Where to find La Verrerie de Guerlédan...
The workshop is at 70 Rue Roc' Hell in Caurel, which is in the very heart of Brittany and not far from the small town of Mur de Bretagne and close to the Lac de Guerlédan.

How to get here ...
Caurel is just off the N164, which is the main east/west road through the centre of Brittany.

If you are traveling from the west (ie from the direction of Brest) take the exit marked D95 and then take the 2nd exit at the roundabout. You are then on the road which passes through Caurel and we are on the left opposite the Salle des Fêtes.

If you are traveling from the east (ie in the direction from Rennes) take the first left on the dual carrageway after passing the turnoff's for Mur de Bretagne. You are then on the road which passes through Caurel and we are on the right opposite the Salle des Fêtes.

Where to stay...
Two Chambre d'hôtes are available at 70 Rue Roc' Hell adjacent to the workshop. My partner, Ian, administers the bookings. His contact telephone number from England is 0033 296 280 485, and if calling from France it is 02 96 28 04 85.

Other chambre d'hôtes within easy walking distance of the workshop include:

Valfresco's has 4 en-suite rooms - telephone number from England is 0033 296 267 595.

Le Relais du Lac has 6 double rooms and is run by Claire Desnier. Her telephone number from England is 0033 296 671 100.

What to do...
When you are not undetaking a glass course there are a multitude of things to do and places to visit in the area.

Local markets include Pontivy (Mondays), Rostrenen & Quintin (Tuesday), Mur de Bretagne (Friday evening in the summer), Bon Repos & Beau-Rivage (Sunday morning) and there is also a small market at Caurel itself on Thursday's.

There are a number of attractive medieval towns, abbeys, gardens, museums etc within a short drive and there are so many places to eat that the list would go on for ever! But as regards those places that are close to us the following are worth entioning:

Auberge de Guerlédan - Caurel
Relais du Lac - Caurel
Valfrescos - Caurel
Auberge de Grand' Maison - Mûr-de-Bretagne
Le Crêpereie du Vieux Moulin - Beau-Rivage
L'Embarcadère - Beau-Rivage

The Grand' Maison also has a cookery school for those interested in taking their cullinary skills to a new level.
